I certainly agree that it is time for a new player to step onto the Social Media scene. I have been sending several posts, usually just pictures, from my iPhone to my posterous (http://garin.posterous.com) and it is getting easier and more natural for me to Blog on the go all the time. I miss my Blackberry for the keyboard but I am getting really fast with the iPhone.

Facebook has the privacy market cornered, but I think the real value in social media lies in open platforms which enable connections and conversations with new people we have never met before, like on Twitter. I will not be surprised if Twitter growth exceeds Facebook growth in the years to come, since it is better for the expansion of a network online, whereas most people use facebook for only people they have met in real life.

Oh I'm not disagreeing with you just beginning to think the demise of Twitter isn't all that far away and something new and shiny is about ready to emerge. I'm finding my conversations shift more and more towards Facebook each day especially with the iPhone and Blackberry apps that give full functionality on the road.

But I'm not ready to abandon twitter yet. It's still the king public broadcast model and great for live events such as tweetups, Podcamps and the like. It's just that with the proliferation of spam and marketers the semi-private facebook model is beginning to draw more appeal as is video based platforms which the marketers haven't fully figured out yet.

I think Twitter Rocks more than ever because of the new Lists feature! I find it cool to engage within channels I create. I find it surprising if you disagree since you have almost five times as many tweets as me! I joined Twitter a year and two days ago, and I see from your stats here: http://twitterholic.com/pfmonaco that you Paul have been on Twitter for over two years. I wish I joined sooner because I have already in one year discovered so many interesting people who tweet!

Good stuff, gave me a few things to add to the watch list.. Twitter rocks but not so much anymore… looks life facebook is slowily taking over that role but I'm not giving up the tweets anytime soon.. @pfmonaco their a (and just about everwhere!) Peace!

Hey Tim, good point, I sure would not want to be the guy lacing up skates for a Bear! I am guessing that they used positive reinforcement, probably food, to encourage the bears to shoot the puck. It would be harder to train a bear goalie though, and you are right, that goalie sucks! I am surprised there are no real hockey boards around the outside of the rink. If I was going to watch teams of bears with blades on their feet I would want at least some glass in between me and them, but the audience seems unphased!

I agree with you on the Hockey Fight. As far as those bears being real…..who the heck puts on those skates for them? Why in the world would they know how (and more importantly where) to hit that hockey puck? Also, bear goalies suck….they just sit there.
